What a beautiful experience I had filming with all the wonderful people in and around the area. The Halloween decorations were donated by a few local bars, T Dawgs in Grantsburg, Friendly’s in Frederic…Our snacks were donated by Trader Bill’s Discount store in Siren, the meat for the raffle was donated by local butchers Daeffler’s in Frederic and Block and Cleaver in Siren. Actors from MN and Northwest WI travelled in a blizzard to film a movie about a blizzard! Locals came out and became actors! We filmed many many scenes in quite a short period of time…..They were storyboarded very well, planned out by Shawn my director friend from Creepy Acres who normally only directs puppets. The local bar The Hangout owners were super helpful, generous and openminded…It was a real dream for me to film this movie here because I grew up in this bar and then bartended there for three years so I knew the place like the back of my hand. We had the trust and full reign of the place and were able to set up our lights, cameras and sound. The staff and the manager, cooked up the steaks for the scenes which I was so grafeful for since I am a vegetarian… We taught some of the regulars about set etiquette and ask them to be “quiet on the set” which was a little challenging but they picked it up pretty quick or moved on after getting a taste and enjoying a bit of the movie making process. Some of them joined in as extras or even took on roles last minute which was a surprise ! I was also blessed to have so many good sports who learned on the spot how to do sound, camera, lights…..People brought equipment and food……Small town strong is what it is called!!!! Creating is the highest vibration that there is in my opinion and doing with a bunch of energetic, open minded people is what makes it the very best! I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone involved and I look forward to celebrating the final piece with you one day in the near future! A special thanks too to the animals that were in the movie, this movie is a platform to continuously fight for animals to be treated with honor and respect, given good quality, healthy lives before their sacrifice….As well as raising the vibration for us all to have more freedom to create, be healthy, happy and have the most freedom without harm…There are a lot of powerful Women involved in making this film, starring in it, filming and producing it which has not been very common in this industry something we are changing…Humanity and our planet are facing some very serious realities today and comedy is how I like to open up dialogue about it….Click below for a fun clip from the shoot! #wif #wisconsinfilmmakers #indiefilmmakers #aif #womenproducers #womenscreenwriters #actress #meatraffle #meatrafflefilm #fredericwisconsin #thehangout #lewiswisconsin #endfactoryfarming #womeninfilm #womensupportwomen #womenentrepeneurs #womeninbusiness #womendirectors #buttercreamproductions #talentagent #filmfestival
